Aspen Commercial Painting, Inc. in Burr Ridge, IL is now hiring a full-time Assistant Project Manager for our growing company! Job Classification and Hours:

Full-Time, Salaried Position, Competitive benefits package including profit sharing.

The Assistant Project Manager will coordinate and guide commercial painting jobs through the bidding, scheduling and execution stages and serve as the focal point for communication among the various involved parties. He or she will service all prospective customers with the objective of meeting their painting needs and building customers for life. Ensure that our customers’ needs and expectations are clearly communicated and accurately documented on a written proposal and on change orders. Develop a close working relationship with the General Contractor, Project Managers/Supervisors, and the painting crews to ensure all expectations set forth on the written proposal are met. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Ensure assigned project(s) are kept on schedule and within budget while meeting clients’ needs and delivering a quality project.

Plan, schedule, and coordinate painting projects from “estimated” to “completed,” (multiple projects simultaneously).

Generate schedules and plans of operation for painting projects in close consultation with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders.

Schedule and award subcontracts, purchase orders and change orders as needed.

Manage painting crews for scheduling, analyzing, and coordination of manpower needs to maintain proper flow of work.

Identify potential issues and ensure timely decisions are made.

Lead safety meetings and document as necessary.

Ensure proper document control and record keeping.

Ensure accuracy in estimates and job costing.

Communicate the scheduling preferences and needs of the customer by making notes and/or scheduling the job through the Company Calendar.

Guide project to completion to ensure proper close-out.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The responsibilities listed above describe the duties that the Project manager will perform. The knowledge, skill and/or abilities required to execute these duties are listed below:

Ability to manage, hire and coordinate manpower needs.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, managers, general contractors, and clients.

Ability to learn and work independently in a fast-paced environment. Self-motivated.

Superb time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.

Detail oriented, dependable, and reliable.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in use of a personal computer and software programs such as MS Excel, MS Word, Outlook Mail/Calendar/and Drive.

Minimum of 2 years (5 years preferred) of successful project management experience desired. Demonstrated work history of safely executing projects on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards.

Budget control and job cost forecasting experience and skills.

Experience in Commercial painting. Additional experience with other project types, such as medical office building, schools, office, public sector, and related facilities a plus but not required.

Experience in and ability to Analyze construction drawings, Evaluate specifications and proposals, Submittal processing, review, coordination, and tracking, RFI creation, review, submission, and tracking.

Performs Take-offs (familiarity with On-Screen Takeoff estimation software is a plus)

Attend pre-bid walk-throughs and contractor meetings.

Diverse expertise with a variety of building types. Prior experience with commercial construction process a plus.

Operate a variety of software programs as listed above.

Demeanor that is friendly and cooperative while maintaining adherence to Aspen Commercial Painting policies and procedures.

Must present the values and ideals of Aspen Commercial Painting in appearance and action. Maintain a proper appearance as required by Aspen Commercial Painting when interacting with customers or when representing the company. Maintain your vehicle in a professional manner as required.

Energetic self-starter with the ability to multitask, possessing a “get it done” attitude.

Perform other duties as required to ensure the success of Aspen Commercial Painting. These duties may include assignments in other job classifications.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
