We are actively seeking a visionary and a leader to guide the opening process of a boutique hotel in sales, marketing, revenue management, and operations. The Gem Museum Suites is an extended stay hotel that offers guests a comfortable experience as their rooms provides a full kitchen including a dishwasher, microwave, stove, and in unit washer and dryer. In this role, the general manager will be responsible with overseeing all hotel operations and providing leadership to help open and grow this magnificent hotel.

The GEM is an extended stay hotel that is in downtown Evanston serving local colleges and businesses in Evanston.
Responsibilities
The General Manager will be responsible for the below tasks:
Lead all hotel operations including, but not limited to hotel budgeting and forecasting, strategic planning, implementing and complying with all company policies and standards, overseeing sales and marketing initiatives, and responding to guests inquiries.
Providing supervision and professional development, scheduling, conducting counseling and evaluations and delivering recognition
Oversee service quality, operational efficiency, guest satisfaction, standards compliance and service and financial measurements.
Identify operational performance, productivity and efficiency gaps and implement measures to correct those deficiencies.
Serve as primary liaison with hotel owners and management company.
Provides supervision and guidance to their team and associates.
Ensure that financial performance is optimized that high quality product and service levels are maintained and that the
hotel is operated in compliance with state federal and local regulations as well as Company and brand standards.
Provide hands on leadership to ensure that revenue is maximized while expenses are effectively controlled.
Prepare and conduct all management interviews and follow hiring procedures according to The GEM’s S.O.P.'s.
What are we looking for?
Qualifications:
A minimum of 3-5 years General Manager experience managing a hotel
Thorough understanding of revenue management, commercial strategies, and sales
Performance driven, with strong leadership capability and proven ability to attract, motivate, lead, inspire and direct a talented team towards driving excellent guest and employee satisfaction results.
Ability to lead with proven success in driving engagement and managing high performing teams.
