If so, we want to hear from you!Our property management client on the Northwest side of Indianapolis is seeking a highly motivated Accounts Payable Specialist to join their growing team in a contract-to-hire position. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring their vendors are paid accurately and on time. You will be responsible for processing invoices, maintaining vendor relationships, and providing support to the accounting department. This role offers flexibility to work remote up to 3 days per week, once trained. Responsibilities:
Process invoices for accuracy and completeness according to company policies and procedures.
Verify invoice data against purchase orders and receiving reports.
Code invoices to the appropriate general ledger accounts.
Enter and maintain vendor information in our accounting system.
Process payments to vendors via check or ACH.
Reconcile bank statements and vendor accounts.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounts payable records.
Research and resolve discrepancies in invoices or payments.
Respond to vendor inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
Assist with month-end closing procedures (as needed).
Requirements
Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounts payable
Associate's degree in accounting or a related field preferred.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Prior experience working in Yardi or comparible software preferred.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
