Job Description:SummaryThe Student Innovation Center is seeking a Marketing Specialist I/II to join our growing team. This role will help with various internal and external communications projects, including designing promotional/marketing materials, social media content, website design and maintenance, email marketing campaigns and graphic design. This position will help lead communication student support staff and develop training and standards for those groups to ensure brand consistency.The Student Innovation Center is the nexus on campus that inspires students, faculty, and staff to innovate through experimentation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the free exchange of ideas in an inclusive environment. The Center is a resource serving the entire university community with unique facilities and workspaces to foster innovation across all aspects of Iowa State’s land-grant mission. It provides a welcoming and vibrant environment where all university stakeholders can find resources to foster new ideas, creativity, experimentation, evaluation, and entrepreneurship, especially at the intersection of traditional disciplines.The successful candidate will be a self-starter, organized and detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Candidate must be able to work independently, as well as collaborate with all members of the Student Innovation Center team to ensure work meets the needs of the Student Innovation Center.Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship. This position will be filled at the Marketing Specialist I or II level, depending on the candidate's experience. Marketing Specialist I Minimum Requirements: Bachelors degree.Marketing Specialist II Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of related experience. Level I Example of Duties: Designs marketing materials, including brochures, flyers, digital signage, social media posts, presentations, and templates. Manages and updates websites and social media. Serves as the point person for the digital signage throughout the building. Level II Example of Duties: Designs, develops, and implements marketing materials, including brochures, flyers, digital signage, social media posts, presentations, and templates. Manages, updates, and creates content for websites and social media. Serves as the point person for the digital signage throughout the building. Establishes plans, schedules, and benchmarks for projects and tracks projects through completion. Reviews results and ensures the adherence of the marketing activities and plans.
