Description We are searching for a Sr. Accountant in Lexington, Kentucky. The role entails managing various accounting tasks, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and utilizing software like QuickBooks and Excel in the execution of duties. The workplace is onsite, and the employment type is permanent.Responsibilities: Uphold financial accuracy by ensuring all activities and reports comply with GAAP. Supervise daily accounting operations such as transaction recording, ledger maintenance, and reconciliations. Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation. Use QuickBooks software for financial reporting, transaction management, and analysis. Develop and maintain financial models and reports using advanced Excel functions. Prepare for internal and external audits, facilitate audit inquiries, and implement corrective actions as needed. Assist with tax filings, including preparing tax returns and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. Monitor and manage company cash flow, including forecasting and budgeting. Ensure adherence to internal controls and company policies, and identify opportunities for process improvements. Requirements Must hold a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field. CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification is required. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is mandatory. Must have experience with QuickBooks accounting software. Experience with month-end close procedures is necessary. Skills in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations are essential. Familiarity with journal entries and general ledger operations is required. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. High attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity. Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality.
