Description We are seeking a Legal Assistant/Paralegal in Baltimore, Maryland. The role involves providing comprehensive administrative and legal support in the field of estate planning, probate, and trust administration. Responsibilities: Draft and proo legal documents such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and probate petitions Assist in preparing estate and trust accountings, asset inventories, and beneficiary distributions Manage and organize case files, both physical and electronic, ensuring all documents are up-to-date and accessible Serve as the primary contact for clients, beneficiaries, and other interested parties, scheduling and participating in client meetings and consultations Conduct basic legal research related to estates, trusts, and probate matters as needed Prepare and file court documents related to probate and trust administration Liaise with court clerks and other legal professionals to facilitate case filings, hearings, and document submissions Provide comprehensive administrative support such as answering phones, managing calendars, and processing mail Assist in managing estate and trust accounts, ensuring proper disbursement of funds and tracking expenses Work with financial institutions to gather asset information, manage trust accounts, and coordinate the transfer of assets.Requirements Possess a solid understanding of Estate Law Proficient in handling matters related to Trusts and Estates Have experience in drafting Wills Skilled in managing Power of Attorney affairs Proficient in Probate Law Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously Proficient in the use of legal research tools and software Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically Excellent client service skills Knowledge of legal terminology and principles Ability to analyze legal documents for accuracy A law degree or equivalent legal qualification is preferred Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous.Qualified candidates should directly apply and connect with Amy Hyman Baum on LinkedIn.
