Description We are on the lookout for a Legal Assistant to join our team for an archiving position. Situated in Baltimore, Maryland, your role will involve managing legal files and carrying out relevant administrative duties. This role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Manage and organize legal files and documents Retrieve closed case files from designated locations Execute data entry tasks and complete file transmittal forms Store forms on shared drives and disseminate them to relevant parties via email Pack away files in designated archive boxes and label them in accordance with set procedures Liaise with the archives facility team for pick up and storage of closed files Ensure all tasks are performed with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.Requirements Possess proven experience as a Legal Assistant, Admin, or similar role in a law firm or legal department. Proficiency in the use of Legal Files software is a must. Strong knowledge of legal terminology, regulations, and court system. Demonstrated proficiency in legal research and documentation. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment. High level of discretion and confidentiality for sensitive legal matters. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). A degree in Law, Paralegal Studies, or a related field would be advantageous. Ability to work independently and in a team.
