Description We are in search of a Legal Assistant to join our team in BALTIMORE, Maryland. In this role, you will be supporting multiple attorneys, managing both electronic and physical legal documents, scheduling depositions, and handling various administrative duties. This position offers a short term contract employment opportunity in the legal industry.Responsibilities: Assisting multiple attorneys with their daily tasks Managing and maintaining multiple case files, both electronic and paper-based Filing pleadings with state and federal courts, ensuring all documents are filed accurately Handling legal billing and data entry tasks efficiently Gathering, organizing and entering data into legal software as required Drafting routine correspondence and legal documents Coordinating and managing attorney/case calendars Scheduling depositions and organizing travel arrangements when necessary Handling sensitive client data with utmost discretion, care, and accuracy Carrying out assigned administrative tasks promptly and accurately, meeting all agreed upon deadlines. Requirements Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience in answering inbound calls professionally and providing excellent customer service. Demonstrated ability in legal research and assisting attorneys in legal procedures. Familiarity with legal billing procedures and data entry tasks. Ability to draft legal documents, motions, pleadings, and correspondences. Experience in scheduling tasks such as depositions and meetings. Knowledge of case management practices and case management software. Proficiency in e-filing and court filing procedures. Prior administrative assistance experience in a legal setting. Knowledge of labor law and its applications. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
