The Fine Arts Center's combination of educational, visual, and performing arts programs not only makes us unique, but it also secures a very vital and necessary position for us to meet the diverse needs of scholars, faculty, students, alumni, and the broader community.Job SummaryUnder the supervision of the Associate Director of Production, this part-time hourly position performs daily clerical and office operations for the Operations and Production Services departments. The position provides support for Fine Arts Center (FAC) and rental events in FAC’s venues across campus. Duties include creating estimates for events, working with ArtsVision venue management software, and event support.Essential Functions

Evaluates technical riders and processes resulting event estimates in ArtsVision and excel spreadsheets.

Works with FAC staff to ensure estimates are as accurate as possible; communicates results with appropriate staff.

Assists in maintaining FAC production schedules and calendars.

Ensures that information in ArtsVision is up to date and accurate.

Provides clerical support for the Production Coordinator and Audience Services Manager as needed.

Provides technical support and event management for crew calls and performances as scheduled.

Other Functions

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)

Excellent communication skills

Well-organized and detail-oriented

Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Access and Outlook

Ability to work independently, to multitask and meet deadlines

Customer service experience

Event management, audience management or arts administration experience.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions

Balancing; carrying; pulling/pushing; repetitive movement; standing; bending; climbing; reaching; twisting; lifting. Ability and willingness to lift, push and pull heavy road cases and be an active participant in all aspects of load in/out

Work Schedule

Some weekend and evening hours; variable schedule.

This is a temporary, non-benefited position.

Salary Information

$20.00/hr.

Reporting to the Senior Major Gift Officer, Director of Leadership Giving, the Advancement Assistant supports the work of Leadership and Major Gifts efforts. This role provides critical administrative support in service of Advancement\'s mission of engaging alumni and families, and securing fundraising support. The person in this role serves as a point of contact for internal and external constituencies, manages data entry projects and may help support events. This is a part-time, three-year term position. This position supports myriad goals and activities of the Major & Planned Giving team, which include but are not limited to: Developing and implementing strategies to increase leadership gifts from the College\'s highly diverse alumni, parents and friends, in support of the College\'s top priorities, including the Amherst Fund, Financial Aid and the Student Center & Dining Commons project Maintaining a portfolio of current and future prospects to build the leadership giving pipeline by engaging with those prospects and identifying opportunities to build community and connection to the College. Summary of Responsibilities: LEADERSHIP GIVING SUPPORT Work closely with the Director of Leadership Gifts to support the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of donors and prospects Track and document giving activity, including visit reports, meeting and event briefings, gift proposals and acknowledgments Provide administrative support for the Leadership Gifts team, including entering contacts, scheduling appointments/meetings, processing expenses, maintaining file systems, shipping packages and donor gifts, maintaining donor lists Proactively update prospect information or confirm information via online research and use of data search tools Prepare meeting materials, including itineraries, agendas, minutes, and donor correspondence Assists with travel and event calendars and helps coordinate and plan on- and off-campus events.
