Performs other work as required.Essential Functions

Performs a physical inventory counting of Residential Life equipment and furniture in residence halls and offsite storage facility.

Maintains and updates inventory database as necessary; reconciles disposal forms with campus inventory database.

Assess physical condition of furniture pieces in storage.

Assists with equipment disposal process.

Assists in determining best location for furniture storage.

Moves furniture as needed.

Performs other tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)

High school education or equivalent.

Experience in facilities/operations management or a related field.

Demonstrated supervisory experience.

Valid Massachusetts Class D driver’s license or equivalent.

Ability to work accurately with figures.

Ability to compile reports and maintain accurate records.

Ability in oral and written communication.

Ability to supervise and train student staff.

Ability to perform basic mechanical tasks.

Ability to lift and carry furniture, appliances and other heavy objects.

Knowledge of personal computers and word processing and database management software programs.

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Ability to be flexible and respond to situations quickly.

Demonstrated planning and organizational skills.

Ability to establish rapport, maintain harmonious working relationships and deal effectively with persons from varied ethnic, cultural and/or economic backgrounds.

Ability to exercise sound judgment and exercise discretion in handling confidential information.

Physical Demands/Working ConditionsAbility to lift and carry furniture, appliances and other heavy objects.Additional DetailsEmployee will acquire on-the-job knowledge including but not limited to; knowledge of University procedures relating to inventory control, work requests, key control and other policies relating to residence hall management; knowledge of the physical layout and space assignments within assigned areas; Further knowledge of data-based computer systems; knowledge of University and State health, safety and fire regulations.Work Schedule

Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM.

Employee must be available for scheduled and emergency overtime.

Reporting to the Senior Major Gift Officer, Director of Leadership Giving, the Advancement Assistant supports the work of Leadership and Major Gifts efforts. This role provides critical administrative support in service of Advancement\'s mission of engaging alumni and families, and securing fundraising support. The person in this role serves as a point of contact for internal and external constituencies, manages data entry projects and may help support events. This is a part-time, three-year term position. This position supports myriad goals and activities of the Major & Planned Giving team, which include but are not limited to: Developing and implementing strategies to increase leadership gifts from the College\'s highly diverse alumni, parents and friends, in support of the College\'s top priorities, including the Amherst Fund, Financial Aid and the Student Center & Dining Commons project Maintaining a portfolio of current and future prospects to build the leadership giving pipeline by engaging with those prospects and identifying opportunities to build community and connection to the College. Summary of Responsibilities: LEADERSHIP GIVING SUPPORT Work closely with the Director of Leadership Gifts to support the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of donors and prospects Track and document giving activity, including visit reports, meeting and event briefings, gift proposals and acknowledgments Provide administrative support for the Leadership Gifts team, including entering contacts, scheduling appointments/meetings, processing expenses, maintaining file systems, shipping packages and donor gifts, maintaining donor lists Proactively update prospect information or confirm information via online research and use of data search tools Prepare meeting materials, including itineraries, agendas, minutes, and donor correspondence Assists with travel and event calendars and helps coordinate and plan on- and off-campus events.
