JOB SUMMARY The Legislative Aide is an entry-level position within a Senator’s office and may perform routine research, constituent casework, bill tracking, correspondence, office administration or press and public relations functions. This position is supervised by a Senator or by a more senior staff member and work may be reviewed for accuracy, completeness, content, and methods. The Legislative Aide’s assignments and responsibilities may vary depending on office needs and Senator priorities. The Legislative Aide reports to the Chief of Staff and more senior staff. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Answer office phones and email, check the mail, receive visitors, order citations, manage Senator correspondence, greet visitors to the State House,and facilitate routine inter-officecommunications. Assist constituents in dealing with government agencies to resolve problems related to the receiptof government services. Conduct constituent casework. Create and maintain caseworkrecords. Draft written materials related to Senator correspondence, testimony, press releases, newsletters, talking points, orlegislation. Liaise with citizen groups, agencies, individuals, and other stakeholders. Other Duties and Responsibilities May Include: Coordinate State House and in-district meetings for Senator. Research, track, and analyze legislation and budget items of interest to the Senator. Monitor committee hearings or floor debates and report legislative action or developments to Senator or appropriate office staff. Provide staff support toSenator in the state house or district. Attend events with the Senator or on their behalf. Maintain the Senator’s schedule under the supervision of senior staff. Monitor newspapers and media for emerging issues and information related to legislativebusiness. In absence of Senator of other senior staff, act as contact with mediaorrepresent Senator atmeetings. Perform other duties asassigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 1. One to two years ofcollegeortechnicalschool, or, alternatively, at least 2 years of relevant work experience. 2. Ability to interact, coordinate and work effectively with the public, members of thelegislature, legislative staff, and executivebranch. 3. Excellent oral and written communication skills. 4. Ability to work cooperatively withlegislators. 5. Knowledge of office computerapplications. PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Administrative, clerical, front desk, or customer service experience. 2.   • The OS-II Funeral Home Portal Administrator will be responsible for the review and approval of funeral home applications in the OCME release portal. All decedent demographic and legal next of kin information is verified as accurate prior to application approval. The FH Portal Administrator will routinely communicate with medicolegal investigators, administrative support staff, and legal counsel for confirmation of decedent demographic details and release restrictions. DETAILED STATEMENT OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Electronically receive, process, and approve funeral home applications for decedent release from all OCME office locations within the online Decedent Release Portal according to standard operating procedure. Release the certified death record to the appropriate funeral home in the electronic death registration system. Review and confirm decedent demographic information provided by the funeral home against information documented in CMTS. Verify any noted discrepancies with decedent demographic information or legal next of kin/claimant information, provided by the funeral home, against information documented in CMTS with the assigned OCME medicolegal investigators for review and follow-up. Review and verify all documents submitted by the funeral home for accuracy and completion of all required fields. Document all case release information in CMTS and ensure required documents and forms are electronically attached in CMTS for printing and filing in the chart. Electronically attach death certificate attestation copies to the Law Enforcement Portal. Request preparations of non-communicable disease letters from the administrative support staff of the assigned Medical Examiner.
