Announce patient arrivals over the intercom in a professional manner. Determine existence of previous registration if applicable and verify update insurance and demographic information. If new patient, complete registration documentation. Verify proper consents are on file and completed. Verify insurance and financial information. Obtain all signatures for non-covered service prior to appointment. Scan patient paperwork, insurance cards into MiDent. Check patients out; confirm diagnosis codes were entered and ensure patient balances are collected.Answer phones in a professional and appropriate manner. Send Televox confirmation daily. Listen to, and respond to voicemails. Triage calls within established guidelines for immediate attention for patient payments, directions and scheduling information. Manage front desk mail, email and phone messages. Collect cash and credit card payments from patients using established guidelines to determine patient pay portion, insurance portion of professional courtesy as assigned. Reconcile clinic cash collections daily. Recommend procedural changes in front desk operations to increase efficiency. Display excellent customer service and attitude towards patients, students/residents, faculty and staff. Attend meetings as requested. Update and order necessary clinic formsRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience is required with some college preferred. Considerable clerical experience is necessary. Exceptional interpersonal skills. Knowledge of Word, Excel and Dropbox. Welcoming personality. Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to multi-task in a busy and hectic clinical environment. Excellent attendance record.Desired QualificationsExperience working in an outpatient clinic setting. Knowledge of dental terminology. Knowledge of dental insurance plans. Knowledge of axiUm/MiDent.
