Job Description:Bridging North America (BNA), a partnership of Fluor, ACS Infrastructure Canada and Aecon Group Inc., is seeking a summer intern candidate for the Gordie Howe International Bridge project. BNA was selected to design, build, finance, operate and maintain the CAD$5.7 billion (approximate US$4.4 billion) Gordie Howe International Bridge project for Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority (WDBA).When completed, the bridge will be the longest cable-stayed bridge in North America. The project includes a bridge and border crossing spanning the Detroit River and connecting Detroit, Michigan, U.S., and Windsor, Ontario, Canada, by linking Interstate 75 and Interstate 96 in Michigan with the new extension of Highway 401 (Rt. Hon. Herb Gray Parkway) in Ontario. The scope also includes building new, state-of-the-art ports of entry on both the U.S. and Canadian sides of the Detroit River as well as improvements to existing infrastructure in both Michigan and Ontario.Reporting to the CAN POE Project Director, the field engineer is responsible for providing technical and engineering support at the front end of construction. Coordinates with the Project Control Manager for costing and ensuring that the proper information is properly coded to the Project Control Manager. Ensures project costing requirements are met. Looks after time cards and reports on daily/weekly production. Provides technical information and quantities of work for a particular operation (e.g., laying of concrete). Provides technical assistance to the Superintendents. Ensures that quality assurance practices are being met. Supervises Quality Assurance program for field operations, and advises Superintendent of non- compliance. Ensures all copies of specifications and construction drawings are latest issue and distributes as required to the Superintendent(s). Advises Superintendent and Project Control Manager on any change in scope of work to be done. Contacts Sub-Contractors and Suppliers for scheduling and scope of requirement. Keeps job diary and separate book for daily inspection of works. Provides monthly estimates of work completed as required by Project Control Manager for billing to owner. Gathers information to produce monthly pay certificates. Coordinates and supervises surveying. Position Summary This position is primarily responsible for providing expert technical support to customers and trade allies. In this role, you will provide energy advice and coordination services for the energy efficiency programs; these services include: building maintenance, lighting, controls, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems for energy efficiency and comfort. Essential Duties and Responsibilities This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time. Work with business and building owners, developers, architects, engineers and contractors to provide energy efficiency advice and assistance in participating energy efficiency or energy conservation programs Identify and provide documentation of on-site opportunities for energy efficiency in buildings under design and construction; provide follow-up as required to the customers Participate in QA/QC and internal audit activities Analyze building utility bills to determine energy usage trends Ability to promote, sell and influence property managers, owners and maintenance staff to install energy efficiency measures in multifamily dwellings Prepare and present reports and presentations Discuss technical elements of energy consuming equipment in a facility (lighting, HVAC, hot water systems, envelope, integrated design) and how it affects utility consumption and demand, to help build a business case to prioritize recommendations and how they affect savings and first cost Enter data into spreadsheets and databases to determine energy savings and to manage current projects, collaborate with other Energy Advisors/Energy Engineers as required to maximize technical support to the client base Develop a comprehensive understanding of the program\'s strategic direction regarding energy efficiency and the business activities of its customers Keeping current on the latest energy-saving technology and how we might incorporate them into our products Collaborating with other Energy Advisors and Energy Engineers to maximize client technical support Serve as a technical resource for Energy Advisors Ensure compliance with all quality and safety policies as well as all OSHA regulations Position Requirements Education and Experience Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
