Administrative Assistant

Description We are in search of an Administrative Assistant to join our team in the non-profit industry located in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The role involves working closely with clients to secure housing and managing the related documentation and compliance. The opportunity offers a contract to hire employment type.Responsibilities: Interact with clients to understand their housing needs and assist in securing suitable housing solutions. Work on securing funds through grants and ensure compliance with the regulations. Assist clients with documentation and eligibility for housing, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information. Prepare and maintain detailed financial records, including income and rent calculations. Manage client relations effectively and respond to customer inquiries in a courteous manner. Use MS Excel and other database management tools to maintain accurate customer credit records. Perform data entry tasks and maintain department files and records. Ensure compliance functions are carried out in line with organizational effectiveness standards. Use computer keyboard and other basic office skills to complete paperwork and other clerical duties. Answer inbound calls, confirm appointments, and provide financial counseling to clients as needed. Requirements Minimum of 1 year experience in an administrative role within a non-profit organization Excellent proficiency in MS Excel and other basic office skills Demonstrated ability to answer inbound calls in a courteous manner Experience in maintaining appropriate documentation and complete paperwork Proven ability to handle clerical duties and office functions efficiently Strong customer service skills, with experience in managing client relations Ability to maintain and manage department files and records Experience in database administration and management Proficiency in using computer files and keyboard Experience in confirming appointments and scheduling Strong skills in regulatory compliance and compliance functions Must have a friendly and outgoing personality Experience in financial counseling is a plus Ability to maintain records and provide detailed documentation Demonstrated organizational effectiveness and efficiency Proficiency in data entry and numeric data entry.
