Description We are in search of a competent Accounting Manager/Supervisor to contribute their expertise within our construction industry operations based in Kalamazoo, Michigan. This role entails overseeing our entire accounting team, ensuring precise financial reporting, and guaranteeing compliance with relevant laws. The successful candidate will utilize their knowledge of accounting procedures and construction industry regulations to streamline accounting functions and operations, and to foster financial growth.Responsibilities: Supervise and manage the entire accounting team, including their training and performance reviews. Prepare and submit periodic financial reports, including balance sheets, cost tracking, and KPI evaluations. Conduct necessary procedures for month-end and year-end closings. Ensure compliance with state and federal laws. Liaise with external auditors and conduct periodic audits. Collaborate with project management teams for project budgeting and cost forecasting. Evaluate and manage risk to ensure the financial stability of the company. Develop and implement strategies for financial growth. Ensure all accounting activities and internal audits comply with financial regulations. Use accounting software systems to process complex financial data and maintain accurate records. Requirements Minimum of 3 years of experience in an Accounting Manager/Supervisor role, particularly within the construction or contractor industry. Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems for managing and analyzing financial data. Experience with ADP - Financial Services is necessary for this role. Knowledge of BlackLine software for automating accounting tasks. Familiarity with Concur software for managing business expenses. Proficiency in ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning for business process management. Mastery of all Accounting Functions, including financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. Experience managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR). Proficiency in auditing practices and principles. Experience with Billing Functions, including preparing, sending, and tracking invoices.
