Payroll Specialist

Description We are seeking a Payroll Specialist in Troy, Michigan. This role provides a long-term contract employment opportunity in the finance industry. The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of tasks including processing payroll, managing data validation tasks, and collaborating with other departments to ensure compliance with company policies.Responsibilities: Participate in user acceptance testing and validate payroll systems for compliance and company needs Perform regular pay parallel testing to identify and manage system errors and discrepancies Ensure the accuracy and completeness of entered details during data validation tasks Analyze and audit payroll data to resolve discrepancies with a solution-oriented approach Collaborate with various departments to ensure payroll procedures adhere to company policy and regulatory requirements Maintain confidentiality and privacy of employee files and payroll information Utilize accounting software systems such as Ceridian, Dayforce, and ADP Workforce Now for various tasks Carry out auditing and accounting functions as needed Administer 401k and other benefit functions Handle inquiries and issues related to payroll, providing high-quality customer service. Requirements Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services is essential Experience with ADP Workforce Now is preferred Knowledge of Ceridian and Dayforce systems is beneficial Expertise in 401k - RRSP Administration is desirable Experience with About Time software is advantageous Understanding of Accounting Functions is necessary Proficiency in Auditing is expected Knowledge of Benefit Functions is required A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Attention to detail and accuracy Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks Familiarity with payroll regulations and requirements Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
