Operations Manager

DescriptionWhat You'll DoThis role ensures the timely delivery of daily service requirements by supervising a team of technicians and gate operation personnels in overseeing day-to-day intermodal gate operations at a designated intermodal facility. This employee will also be responsible for maintenance and repair of Automated Gate System (AGS) and other solutions based on technology to ensure the highest level of operational performance for the solutions REMRPEX provides, in a fast-paced outdoor environment.Responsibilities

Act as subject matter expert in intelligent gate operations, Synapse AGS Clerk Console, Visibility, Class 1 Railroad terminal operating systems (TSS, Oasis, ITOS, OBI, etc.), Occularis, Global Monitoring System (GMS) and any new application as needed.

Manage staff scheduling, including work assignments and rotations, vacations, breaks, and coverage for absent employees

Lead efforts at intermodal terminal and Remote Operations Center (ROC) to resolve complex operations problems

Create, communicate, and execute strategic operational plans to ensure daily success of salaried and hourly staff

Ensure that AGS hardware and software are maintained to meet or exceed the client Service Level Agreement (SLA)

Facilitate the interview process for new hires and provide feedback and insight to REMPREX upper management

Conduct Coach and Counsel sessions with staff and administer appropriate discipline as needed

Ensure that supervisors conduct daily Safety Briefings and inform staff of shift updates

Lead efforts to generate employee goals and review points

Attend Yard Audit, Site Safety, and Senior Hub Management meetings

Manage the input, review, and analysis of performance metrics

Help all supervised employees improve and maintain performance levels

Organize regularly scheduled meetings to enhance staff and management understanding of the strategic terminal plan and specific KPIs.

What You'll NeedRequired

High school diploma or GED required

Valid driver’s license with a clean motor vehicle record (MVR)

Minimum of three years’ work experience in the intermodal industry

Demonstrated experience managing multiple staff members

Flexible schedule that can adapt to extended or adjusted hours as needed

Strong ability to analyze and solve problems quickly and implement procedural changes in a stressful environment

Ability to mentor, teach, and build team ability so as to ensure team and terminal success

Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills

Ability to accurately perform arithmetic computations

Strong written and oral communication skills

Attention to detail

Strong professionalism

Ability to adapt to rapidly changing customer requests and requirements, seasonal variances in workload, and industry needs and requirements

Proven ability to maintain confidential information

Ability to proactively and strategically enhance, not just maintain, overall terminal performance

Commitment to modeling REMPREX and client rules and regulations

Strong background in interacting with, managing, and growing technologies that support the terminal and its operations.

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office

Preferred

Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field

Ability to lift up to 50Ibs

Ability to work in presence of loud machinery
