This position will be part of the Enterprise Services team, which delivers a full suite of services to state agencies, boards, councils, and commissions, and many central services to local government partners.The purpose of this position is to support a program that mitigates threats to information systems resulting from either intended or unintended human tampering, thereby ensuring Minnesota’s ability to maintain systems’ integrity, confidentiality, accessibility, and continuous operations. Areas of attention include security policy and standards deployment, secure systems engineering, change management procedure, crisis/incident reporting and management, security for hardware, network, system software, applications, databases, and physical security of the information technology investment. The Information Security Analyst possesses expertise in enforcing information security policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines within the agency. They must maintain current knowledge of security best practices and champion a computing environment that promotes data confidentiality, integrity, and availability through the application of policies and procedures that guard against the unauthorized disclosure, modification, or destruction of information. The Information Security Analyst has a responsibility to implement user awareness programs to educate and promote awareness of security issues throughout the agencies, and review results of computer security assessments on a regular basis with key designated security personnel.This position is currently eligible for full-time telework:

Experience developing, implementing, and updating information system security policies, guidelines and technical standards.
Experience with one or more operating systems (preferably Microsoft).
Knowledge of and experience with information security standards such as NIST, ISO 27001/17799, COBIT, ITIL, and PCI-DSS.
Ability to deliver effective verbal or written messages that facilitate a mutual understanding on both parties.
Customer service skills that include active listening, empathy, and problem-solving.
A master’s degree in Information Technology or an IT related field substitutes for three (3) years of experience, OR an IT related bachelor’s degree substitutes for two (2) years, OR an IT related associate’s degree substitutes for one (1) year.Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
Certifications: CISSP, CCE, GSFI, ENCE, GSEC, CISSP or other relevant information security certification.
Ability to communicate complex security requirements and solutions to both technical and non-technical customers.
Previous lead work experience within information security.
LDAP and Active Directory design and application.
Ability to balance multiple agendas and objectives for responding to information security issues.
Ability to apply critical and analytic thinking skills to diverse problems and projects to provide effective assessment and solution generation where models or solutions may not always be readily available.
Developing specific security solutions for a wide variety of information security problems.
Experience communicating complex technical issues to a diverse audience, both in oral and written formats.
Project management experience.
