Work Schedule: Monday and Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings.
- Girls Basketball Season: October 21, 2024 through December 7, 2024
- Boys Basketball Season: January 6, 2025 through February 15, 2025
Job Description: As a City of Billings Parks, Recreation and Public Lands Youth Basketball Coach you will be expected to demonstrate, instruct and develop basic basketball specific skills with participants ages 8 - 12 years old. The Coach is responsible for all aspects of directing the teams practice and play in games. An understanding of a specific sport is required. The instructor\'s level of play should be at the high school level. Equipment is provided by Billings Parks and Recreation Coaches will act as a gym supervisor and liaison for the parks and recreation department and be responsible for overseeing the school facility.
Duties:
Coaches must serve as a positive role model to players, parents, officials, and fellow coaches by following all rules and demonstrating good sportsmanship. Coaches must be able to teach Basketball skills through the use of planned practices and games at an appropriate level for each participant. Coaches must be able to organize the players to participate in games while providing a safe and enjoyable environment for all players, giving each child an equal opportunity to participate.

- Professional, confident, and capable of dealing with players, parents, and fans

This position makes personnel decisions regarding hiring, compensation, promotions, discipline and termination of team members in accordance with Company policies. The Warehouse Manager also manages inventory and provides statistical analysis identifying areas for continuous improvement.

Billings School District 2 is seeking an Accounting Manager to assist in oversight of the accounting operations for Billings Public Schools. The Accounting Manager will help lead the day-to-day finance operations of an operating budget of approximately $200,000,000 and supervise a team of staff members including functional responsibility over accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable. The Accounting Manager will assist in ensuring that Billings Public Schools has the systems and procedures in place to support effective program implementation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. At least 3 years of management experience preferred.
- Five years of related experience in school district or other local government accounting capacity with reporting experience preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Financial Accounting.
- Standards Board required. Knowledge of Governmental Accounting Standards Board strongly preferred.
Duties and Expectations:
- Review and provide oversight of all accounts, ledgers and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards.
- Assist in maintaining internal control and safeguards for receipt of revenues and expenditures.
- Monitor the receipt of all income, manage cash flow and bank balances.
- Regularly communicate status to CFO, Controller and Billings Public Schools leadership.
- Manage departmental staff.
- Ensures quality work products are produced under tight timelines.
- Oversee the processing of and ensure accurate and timely preparation of accounts payable and receivables.
- Coordinate various general accounting functions such as journal entries, account reconciliations and reporting.
- Assist with preparation of all financial reports, applications, and legal notices.
- Help provide oversight of financial, project/program and grants accounting.
- Assist in ensuring that expenditures are consistently aligned with grant and program budgets.
- Assist in collating financial reporting materials for government, corporate, and foundation grants.
- Assist in coordinating the information requested by independent external auditors for the District\'s annual audit.
- Work closely with the Controller and external auditors.
- Ensure timely information sharing and the ability to meet audit and Annual Comprehensive Financial Report deadlines.
- Stay current on accounting pronouncements, practices, trends, and state and federal regulations.
- Actively supports the Billings Public Schools Strategic Plan.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Duties:
- Supervises other departmental staff.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization policies and applicable laws.
- Plans and directs work, ensuring that work schedules are adhered to.
- Assists in interviewing, hiring, onboarding and training employees.
- Conducts staff evaluations, job performance management, and corrective action of subordinates.
- Demonstrates effective management of a team toward achievement of goals.
Schedule: 12-months; 8 hours per day; Monday - Friday.
Salary: $80,000 to $95,000 per year depending on qualifications.
