Position Overview:

The IT/ Clinical Health Informatics Manager oversees both the IT and Health Informatics teams and other technical operations in the organization. The IT/ Clinical Health Informatics Manager oversees the analysis, management and performance of health information data to aid patient care.

Position Responsibilities:
  • The IT/ Clinical Health Informatics Manager monitors the latest software and technology to keep process up to date and efficient.
  • The IT/ Clinical Health Informatics Manager manages department sub-function within a broader departmental function.
  • The IT/ Clinical Health Informatics Manager creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets, policies, procedures to support the functional infrastructure.
  • The IT/ Clinical Health Informatics Manager identifies the organization's needs, adding updates and enhancements to current computer systems and ensuring employee's technical issues are resolves efficiently.
  • The IT/ Clinical Health Informatics Manager is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of integrated information systems that will support clinical and non-clinical practice and decision-making as well as specific projects to support safety, quality, and efficiency of patient care and the patient experience across the care continuum.
  • The job also provides a wide range of administrative, planning, and general support service duties with varying degrees of complexity. When capacity exists, this position also provides project planning, support and coordination.
  • Through collaboration with Administration, IT and all other departments, the IT/ Clinical Health Informatics Manager participates in the selection, implementation and adoption of clinical information technology to support optimal effectiveness and efficiency.
  • This position provides direct support and education to Barrett Hospital & HealthCare staff in their use of the EPIC electronic medical record.
  • This job requires analytical capabilities and a high knowledge of processes that support project management in a variety of areas.
  • The job functions in a facilitative role to prioritize and complete assignments that often have competing and conflicting objectives, timeframes and resources.
  • Functions as a liaison with EMR vendor.
  • The position plans and coordinates meetings, programs, procedures and scheduling to facilitate and coordinate projects and activities and is responsible for planning a wide variety of administrative and office-related assignments to accomplish and control work assignments.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's degree (M.A.) or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Required 5+ years of managerial experience.
  • EPIC electronic medical record experience.
  • Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draws valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret and extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
