Weatherization Auditor

QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

High school diploma or equivalent

Must obtain Energy Auditor Certification within one year, all training provided by agency

Aptitude to prepare written and oral technical information/instructions and prepare written contract proposal specifications

Basic math skills

Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, and crawl, bend, and work in a confined area and climb a ladder

Ability to travel

Some knowledge of building components and installation standards and construction quality standards

Basic skills in record keeping, inventory, operation of a computer, calculator, copy machine and other office equipment

Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and work with and understand the needs of low-income individuals

Valid Montana drivers license and liability insurance

Ability to represent Action in a professional manner and maintain a professional working relationship with staff, clients and the general public

DUTIES INCLUDE:

Establish client contact, explain Weatherization Program eligibility/procedures and schedule appointments with clients for energy audit

Perform comprehensive onsite residential energy audit inspection consisting of: heating system and water heater diagnostic testing, tune-up and repair; blower door infiltration, air sealing and zone pressure test; inspection for insulation content and overall structural condition of building components; client interview for energy needs assessment and client energy education

Perform heating system inspections (natural gas, propane, fuel oil forced air, space heat and boiler), diagnostic testing and repairs if needed, according to manufacturer's requirements

Compose work orders on computer, describing weatherization work to be performed, and make sure work proposals follow all applicable grant guidelines

Attend and participate in Weatherization, HVAC and professional development training sessions provided

Full-time position.$21.51 per hour and up, depending on experience. Benefits include: Employer paid insurance (preferred provider-90/10, non-preferred provider-80/20, $500 deductible), sick leave and vacation; and 401K.
