Our team is expanding, and we are looking for an experienced Accountant/Controller to join our dynamic organization.

Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant/Controller to manage all financial aspects of our used car dealership. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing financial operations, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. This role is crucial in supporting the dealership's financial health and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, payroll, and financial reporting.

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.

Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including tax filings and audits.

Analyze financial data and provide insights to improve financial performance.

Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.

Collaborate with department managers to support financial decision-making and budget management.

Reconcile bank statements, monitor cash flow, and manage dealership finances to ensure optimal cash management.

Oversee inventory control and valuation, including cost analysis and profitability reporting.

Coordinate with external auditors for year-end audits and tax preparation.

Support the management team with financial planning, forecasting, and strategy development.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is a plus.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably within the automotive industry or a dealership environment.

Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Dealertrack, or CDK) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.

Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in work.
