NOTE: please only apply for this position if you have forklift experience in a lumberyard setting. You must have experience pulling and picking orders for lumber, construction, materials, decking, etc. Other industry experience will not be considered.
Overview:
Join our team as an Order Picker where you will play a crucial role in our operation. We are looking for individuals who are skilled in materials handling and have experience working in a fast-paced lumber yard environment. As an Order Picker, you will be responsible for accurately picking and preparing orders of lumber, decking, moulding and other construction materials for shipment, ensuring timely delivery to our customers.
Duties:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment to retrieve products from locations throughout our lumber yard
- Conduct quality control checks to verify accuracy of orders picked
- Assist in loading and unloading goods as needed
- Collaborate with the warehouse supervisor to prioritize tasks and meet shipping deadlines
- Perform heavy lifting tasks while maintaining proper lifting techniques
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures at all times
Skills:
- Experience with forklifts, pallet jacks, and other materials handling equipment
- Strong understanding of lumber yard operations
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks throughout the workday
- Familiarity with quality control processes in a lumber yard setting
Requirements:
- Prior experience in lumber yard order picking or a similar role preferred
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory management
- Ability to work efficiently in a team environment
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in order fulfillment
- Flexibility to work varying shifts as needed
