Description We are offering an exciting long-term contract employment opportunity in the insurance industry based in Jersey City, New Jersey, United States. The role is for an Audit Manager who will be crucial in overseeing auditing processes and ensuring the accuracy and legality of our financial records.Responsibilities: Oversee the execution of audit plans and ensure the completion of audit engagements Develop and implement internal audit programs to ensure compliance with SOX - Sarbanes-Oxley regulations Regularly review and analyze the effectiveness of internal controls in the organization Handle internal communications related to auditing processes and findings Supervise the application of auditing techniques across different departments in the organization Coordinate with the team to manage audit plans and ensure the achievement of audit objectives Evaluate financial information for discrepancies and inaccuracies Implement audit engagements according to industry standards and company protocols Collaborate with other departments to streamline accounting functions and improve internal controls.Requirements Proven experience in the field of auditing, particularly within the insurance industry Demonstrable expertise in accounting functions and internal audit Ability to plan, coordinate, and execute audit engagements Experience in preparing and executing audit plans Proficiency in SOX - Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and reporting Excellent internal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively Solid understanding of internal controls and risk assessment Relevant professional qualifications, such as CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) or CPA (Certified Public Accountant) would be advantageous Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Good organizational and project management skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team High level of professional integrity and confidentiality Familiarity with audit software and other relevant IT systems Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of auditing.
