DescriptionAbout the RoleReporting to the Principal Business Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for a range of Aviation, Human Resources and Administrative functions. The selected individual will also oversee the broader administrative functions affecting the entire Operations & Physical Plant Divisions.Working with the Unit Managers and the lead EWR Business Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the unit's staff related priorities such as:Responsibilities
Manage accounting and procurement processes (SAP, authorization for expenses and time / labor, ProCard administration, etc.), business travel administration, and timekeeping
Assist with budget preparation
Manage tuition assistance program at EWR and TEB.
Ensure timely response to the unit's Freedom of Information Act (FOI) requests
Prepare correspondence on behalf of or for, the Manager, Operations and Manager, Physical Plant
Additional responsibilities include:special events/functions planning
Manage organizational charts and staffing-related content on the Aviation eNetsite
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
Three to five years of in-depth administrative and/or human resources work experience
Thorough and comprehensive knowledge of office practices, organizational structure, policies, and procedures as they relate to administrative functions.
Ability to write, edit, and proo correspondence for executive management's signature
Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communications skills interacting effectively with staff at all levels and outside agencies
Working knowledge and experience with PC-based applications: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PeopleSoft and SAP
Desired Qualifications
A bachelors degree in aviation management, Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related discipline from an accredited college or university
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both written and orally.
Strong organization skills - must be able to prioritize effectively and respond to changing priorities in a very busy operational environment.
In-depth knowledge of Port Authority policies and procedures, including those related to administration, human resources and budgeting.
Strong interpersonal skills, including demonstrated experience interacting effectively with all levels of staff, both within and outside the agency.
Experience in problem-solving and handling conflict resolution.
