OverviewThe Smart Mobility Office, SMO, within Panasonic acts as an incubation engine to capture new opportunities and become a gamechanger in the rapidly transforming transportation industry. Nested under SMO is a team powering Cirrus by Panasonic, a connected vehicle platform that provides the tools to enhance roadway mobility, resulting in improved safety, lower emissions, reduced congestion, and more efficient transit and emergency vehicle operations.ResponsibilitiesWhat You'll Get To Do:As a Senior Quantitative Researcher, you will report to the manager of the Quantitative Research vertical within Cirrus’s Technology team, made up of 4 business domains. In your role, you will independently drive end to end generative and evaluative research. Your explorations will uncover timely, relevant insights that quantify the value of our technology and product offerings aimed to improve roadway operations and safety. You will get to share your findings and recommendations with a wide variety of stakeholders such as internal leadership as well as external customers and industry professionals. Your insights and related recommendations will also help to inform the strategic direction of our business and provide a more informed perspective of the benefits of our products and product features. As a senior member of the team, you will get to mentor junior researchers as needed. You will also closely and regularly collaborate with team members from all domains of the Technology team, i.e. Quantitative Research, Data, Cloud, Edge Engineering, as well as key personnel outside of the Technology team to include our Product, Sales, and Professional Services groups.About youYou are a flexible team player that excels in an energetic, oftentimes fast paced working environment. Conceive, lead, and execute on research that quantifies the impact of critical business and product decisions.
Work with a wide range of business partners to develop end to end solutions that address needs and opportunities.
Create engaging reports and present findings to internal and external stakeholders as well as industry professionals. Find creative and compelling ways to present your insights throughout the company to help cultivate a highly informed, more effective, and more strategic organization.
Proactively increase your understanding of the connected vehicle landscape by continuously reviewing market trends, the technology, relevant data sets, current research activities, and key metrics.
QualificationsWhat You'll Bring:Education and Experience
Master’s or Ph.D. in a quantitative field of study. Background in quantitative social sciences such as sociology, psychology, etc. is a plus.
5+ years conducting end to end quantitative research in an applied industry setting.
Expertise in various quantitative research methods and approaches to include experimental design, quasi experimental design, behavioral analytics, and advanced survey design, sampling and weighting, including descriptive and inferential statistics and advanced regression techniques.
Demonstrable experience working with extremely large datasets, i.e., our data sets are in the billions of records, up to multiple TB in size.
Expertise with programming languages and tools commonly used for data manipulation and computational statistics, e.g., R, SPSS, SAS, Python, SQL
Experience with data visualization and analysis tools, e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, Apache Superset
Expert skill in expressing technical concepts and results from research and analytics activities to mixed audiences.
Experience collecting and synthesizing qualitative data.
Preferred experience publishing original research.
Preferred experience mentoring junior researchers and analysts.
Preferred experience working in an agile product environment.
