Position Details Position Information Recruitment/Posting Title Assistant/Associate/Full Professor Department RWJ-Child Health Institute Salary Commensurate With Experience Posting Summary We seek candidates with research expertise in immunology including, but not limited to, neuroimmunology, autoimmunity, development and function of B cells, T cells, NK cells, gd T cells, innate-like cells, macrophages and other myeloid cells. Research focusing on the impact that these cells have on innate and adaptive immune responses, roles in tolerance and contributions to disease are all of interest. Grant funding commensurate with the current academic rank is expected. Applications from physician-scientists, particularly pediatricians, are encouraged. Tenure-track appointments will be made through appropriate departments at RWJMS, with full access to graduate training programs and research resources. Infection and Inflammation has been selected as a signature area of strategic development and the i3D is has become a national leader in this area with outstanding research scientists across the full range of basic immunology and immune and inflammatory responses to a range of important human infections.The Child Health Institute of New Jersey (CHINJ) is a state-of-the-art research institute with over a dozen research laboratories with more than 80 faculty, fellows, students, and technicians. CHINJ is located on the Rutgers University-New Brunswick campus and includes 40,000 square feet of state-of-the-art laboratories and office space as well as sophisticated facilities for modeling pediatric diseases. CHINJ is part of the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (RWJMS).Research at CHINJ includes basic and mechanistic studies of immune function and immune response disorders in the context of immune cell development, antigen presentation, transcriptional control of functions and calcium flux. CHINJ scientists study the causes, treatment and prevention of childhood illnesses including on-going studies of asthma, type 1 diabetes, inflammatory neurodevelopmental disorders and autism, synaptic regulation and neural circuits in feeding and behavior, and immune cell regulation of cognitive disorders.
