Collections Specialist

Description We are in search of a Collections Specialist to join our team based in New Brunswick, New Jersey. This role is instrumental in our financial department, focusing on accounts receivable and collection processes. The successful candidate will be adept at outbound marketing calls, managing chargebacks, and utilizing Excel for various tasks. This is a contract to hire employment opportunity, offering the potential for long-term career growth in our company.Responsibilities: Conduct outbound marketing calls to maintain customer relationships and collect outstanding payments Handle chargebacks to ensure accurate accounting and customer satisfaction Utilize Excel formulas to manage and analyze financial data Monitor customer accounts regularly for irregularities and potential issues Resolve customer inquiries promptly and professionally, maintaining high levels of customer service Process and manage customer credit applications with a high level of accuracy Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer credit records Take appropriate action on customer accounts based on account status and company policies Work closely with the rest of the financial team to achieve department goals and objectives Continuously improve collection processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.Requirements Proven experience in a Collections Specialist role or similar position Proficiency in using Accounts Receivable (AR) software Solid understanding of collection processes and relevant legal regulations Proficient in Excel and familiar with Excel formulas Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to resolve issues in a professional and timely manner Strong analytical skills and attention to detail High level of honesty and integrity Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities High-school degree required; Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business or related field is preferred.
