Ramsey Golf and Country Club is a private golf club and residential development in northern Bergen County. We are seeking a talented and creative Pantry Chef to join the culinary team at our brand-new, upscale American steakhouse, Rare Bird. Rare Bird is open to the members and public alike with high volume business. The ideal candidate will be a meticulous and artistic culinary professional with a passion for cold food preparation, including salads, appetizers, charcuterie, and desserts. This role is perfect for a detail-oriented individual who thrives in a collaborative environment and is excited to contribute to a new and exciting dining establishment.
Responsibilities:
-Prepare and plate all cold food items, including salads, appetizers, and desserts, following established recipes and plating guidelines.
-Design and assemble elaborate charcuterie boards, cheese plates, and other cold presentations for banquets and special events.
-Ensure the quality, consistency, and presentation of all pantry-prepared items meet the restaurant's high standards.
-Manage and maintain the inventory of the pantry station, ensuring all ingredients are fresh and properly stored.
-Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations, maintaining a clean and organized work area at all times.
-Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure a seamless flow of service.
Qualifications:
-Proven experience as a Pantry Chef (Garde Manger) or a similar role.
-Strong artistic and creative skills with an eye for detail and presentation.
-Excellent knowledge of cold food preparation techniques, including proper knife skills, food safety, and handling.
-Ability to work efficiently and calmly under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
-Strong communication and teamwork skills.
-Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
-Culinary school diploma or relevant certification is a plus.
-Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
