Storehouse Voices, a newly established imprint of the Crown Publishing Group at Penguin Random House, seeks an organized, detail-oriented, and process-driven Editorial Assistant to provide administrative and editorial support to the editorial director and executive editor acquiring up to 15 frontlist commercial fiction and nonfiction titles annually.About Storehouse VoicesFounded in 2024, Storehouse Voices celebrates stories from under-published voices across the globe. Our imprint elevates fiction and nonfiction that interrogates and re-imagines our past & present and conceives of new futures. Titles published and upcoming from Storehouse Voices include contemporary, historical, romance, speculative and magical realist fiction as well as narrative nonfiction, memoir, self-help, inspirational, and biographical nonfiction. We are dedicated to amplifying culturally rich narratives and developing an environment that bolsters creators and engages the community as integral members of our publishing family through our imprint and annual Women & Words program.Key Responsibilities:Supports and serves as a liaison for projects between editorial, internal departments, authors and agents through the publication process, from acquisition to finished book ensuring timely delivery of materials.Communicates and supports editors with meeting cross-departmental deadlines for frontlist titles and upcoming reprints.Supports editorial team with author care and outreach for title interest and visibility.Tracks and evaluates a high volume of submissions received via email and through Storehouse Voices online submissions manager, reads projects under contract, writes reader's reports and rejection letters, and research competitive titles.Assists with mailings, editors’ expense reports in Concur, contract initiation and routing for new book acquisitions, P&L creation, advance payment tracking, processes development, preparation for launch presentations, and various administrative tasks.Calendar maintenance as well as virtual and/or in-person meeting coordination. Circulates and takes meeting minutes for editorial review board.Transmits manuscripts and accompanying materials (including art and permissions logs), helps track permissions and missing items in manuscript, and submits titles as needed for legal reads.Drafts supporting materials for upcoming titles, including book announcements, title information sheets, galley copy, cover copy, website copy, and reading group guides.Works closely with production, design, marketing, publicity, rights, and sales departments to provide needed materials and assistance.Maintains key information and metadata in MyHouse, updating as needed.Supports editorial team with special projects including on-site video shoots and annual events related to the Storehouse Voices incubator program.Manages title reprints and reprint corrections.Some travel may be required.
