Dispatcher / Customer Service Representative

Hours: Monday - Friday, 10 AM - 6 PM or 11 AM - 7 PM

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Customer Service Representative to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a “people person” with a professional phone manner, capable of providing exceptional service while handling customer inquiries and issues. This role requires a tenacious, empathetic, and assertive individual who can make independent decisions and manage paperwork effectively in a small business environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide excellent customer service to clients via phone and email.

Understand and execute verbal and written instructions accurately.

Maintain organized records and paperwork related to customer interactions.

Make independent decisions within established parameters.

Foster positive relationships with customers, demonstrating empathy while maintaining professionalism.

Handle various administrative tasks to ensure smooth operations.

Communicate effectively with team members and clients, showcasing a strong understanding of transportation processes.

Requirements:

Availability from 10 AM - 6 PM or 11 AM - 7 PM, Monday to Friday.

Must have a reliable car in good repair.

Experience in transportation or brokerage dispatching

Familiarity with negotiating rates and working with dispatchers and drivers.

Proficient in computer skills and various software applications.

Strong interpersonal skills and a friendly demeanor.

Intelligent, organized, and a quick learner.

Prior customer service experience in a small business setting.

Ability to manage paperwork and documentation efficiently.

Tenacious attitude with the ability to handle challenging situations assertively.

Based in NJ, ideally within a 20-minute drive.

Bonus Qualifications:

Bilingual (Spanish or Russian preferred).

Willingness to take calls overnight or on weekends if necessary.

Experience using dispatch software.
