You’d like to do thisBe a skilled Jr. Software Engineer who possesses automated test experience with expertise in Java programming, a strong understanding of database systems and experience programmatically controlling test instrumentation. As a Software Engineer at BlueHalo, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our products through the design, implementation and enhancement of our automated test tools, all while working within agile, multi-disciplinary teams. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather test requirements and develop comprehensive automated test tools to meet the needs of products test plans and strategies. Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test frameworks using Java, ensuring scalability and maintainability. Create and execute automated test scripts to validate product functionality and performance. Identify and document defects and work closely with the development team to resolve issues and verify fixes. Perform regression testing to ensure existing functionality remains intact with new code changes. Leverage your database expertise to develop and execute tests that validate data integrity, schema consistency, and overall database performance. Participate in code reviews, providing insights on testability, code quality, and potential areas of improvement. Stay up-to-date with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and testing methodologies to continually enhance our testing processes. Willingness to work on a smaller team with dynamic software requirements in a fail-quickly, learn-fast, rapid prototype environment. Expertise in Java interfaces to Relational Database Management Systems (RDMS) Experience with the NetBeans IDE Experience with the PostgreSQL RDMS Experience with Radio Frequency instrumentation and instrument control Experience with software defined radios (SDR) You’re required to have this Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). Proven experience as a Software Engineer, with a strong focus on creating and maintaining automated test frameworks. Proficiency in Java programming and a solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles. Experience with TCP/IP and UDP/IP socket programming and concepts. Hands-on experience with test instrumentation and using the Virtual Instrument Software Architecture (VISA) protocol to connect to a device and Standard Commands for Programmable Instruments (SCPI) to perform data collection. In-depth knowledge of database systems, including SQL, data validation, and database performance testing. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, coupled with excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Ability to work effectively in an agile development environment, adapting to changing requirements and priorities.
