Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunityThe purpose of this position is to advance pharmacoepidemiologic research by developing and applying innovative approaches to the analysis of medicines use and outcomes using New Zealand’s national health and non-health datasets and leading on multinational study collaborations. The role will involve designing and implementing robust analytical strategies, including advanced statistical modelling, predictive analytics, and data linkage methods to generate insights on medicines safety, effectiveness, utilisation patterns and relationships with health outcomes.The research fellow will oversee the activities of the Medicines intelligence group, contributing to a variety of hypothesis-driven studies addressing priority questions in medicines policy and clinical practice. In addition, the role includes engagement with stakeholders such as clinicians, policymakers, and international research partners to ensure the translation of findings into practice and policy.He kōrero mōu | About you | Our ideal candidateYou will bring a deep understanding of pharmacoepidemiology and a passion for advancing medicines research through innovative data-driven approaches. With a strong foundation in pharmacy and experience working with large-scale health datasets, you combine technical expertise with the ability to collaborate across disciplines. Your skills in research study design, advanced analytics, and clear scientific communication will enable you to contribute meaningfully to research.You will bring:A PhD or equivalent in a field relating to medicines use and/ or pharmacoepidemiologyBachelors or Masters degree in Pharmacy or equivalent clinical pharmacy experienceKnowledge of pharmacoepidemiologic study design, clinical pharmacy, advanced statistical methods, programming and data handling and related techniques.Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and managing projectsThis is a part-time (24 hours per week), 5-year fixed term positionThe salary for this role is from $99,788 - $119,204 depending on skills and experience.
