Job SummaryThis position is in the ConocoPhillips L48 IT Infrastructure group which provides telecommunications support to the fields in the L48 Business Unit. The position is in the Carlsbad, NM office and is responsible for enterprise locations, tower sites, well sites, and area facilities in the L48 Delaware Basin fields.Position OverviewYour responsibilities may include:

Support of Field Network Infrastructure and Well Communications

Understand basic Oil & Gas operations

Business Unit relationships by acting as IT liaison with Operations

Accommodate new SCADA implementation at the production facilities by providing connectivity for process control and data gathering

Develop IT training and knowledge articles for BU operations to leverage for TCOM related issues

Familiar with cable and RF test equipment

Communicate planned changes to the field network accurately and effectively and understand how those changes impact Oil & Gas operations

Issue and maintain IP Address/DNS for all network connected devices for new facility builds

Coordinate and supervise capital projects in the Business Unit in accordance with L48 and BU safety policies and guidelines

Monitor and provide metrics of network performance to BU Operations and IT leadership

Oversee emergency power generators, site cleanliness, and site security for all tower locations

Manage Process Control Networks (PCN) that communicate via IT infrastructure that will stop Oil & Gas production if connections are lost

Provide second level field support for various wireless technologies: Point-to-point and point-to-multipoint microwave technologies, both licensed and unlicensed, Multiple Carrier connected cellular systems, 802.11 Wi-Fi, and Land mobile radio systems (LMR)

Communications to SCADA RTU’s/PLC’s, SCADA Data Collectors, and Electrical Reclosers/Relays

Basic/Required:

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer

Living in Carlsbad, NM. Currently resides or willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to relocate within a 40-mile driving radius of Carlsbad, NM

1 or more years of experience working L48 TCOM processes and procedures

1 or more years of experience with various wireless technologies including point to multi point, point to point, mesh, and 802.11 wi-fi.

1 or more years of experience with Ethernet switching and routing

1 or more years of experience with Cisco IOS command line

1 or more years of experience troubleshooting utilizing the OSI model

1 or more years of experience with DNS, DHCP, and IP address/Subnetting

1 or more years of experience with Fiber and CAT network cabling including terminating and troubleshooting

Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodations) to travel 25% of the time on a yearly basis

Preferred:

Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Admin/Mgmt, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, other related business field, other related technical field, or foreign equivalent

CCNA or equivalent certification in Routing and Switching

Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodations) to travel overnight to other ConocoPhillips locations

3 or more years of experience supporting enterprise networking including telecom circuits

1 or more years of experience with packet capture software

1 or more years of experience with SNMP based monitoring software

1 or more years of experience with ServiceNow (Incident/Asset/Change Management)

1 or more years of experience with Aviat, Cambium, ABB Tropos, Sierra Wireless, GE Orbit, Cradlepoint, and Motorola UHF radio systems manufacturers

1 or more years of link-profiling and RF propagation software experience

1 or more years of experience in microwave (licensed and un-licensed), MAS-SCADA, Private LTE, LoRaWan, IOT, Land Mobile, tower structures, and FCC and FAA regulations for the aforementioned

1 or more years of experience with microwave link design, planning, and troubleshooting

Intermediate level of knowledge with existing and emerging cellular technologies

Intermediate level of knowledge of parts 90 and 101 of CFR47 (FCC regulations)

1 or more year of experience with DC/AC power solutions and sizing; 12vdc, 24vdc, 48vdc, 120vac, 240vac

1 or more years of report writing experience

1 or more years of experience with serial communications including RS232 and RS485

SCADA systems

Team player able to work collaboratively in an environment of mixed disciplines including field operations, I&E, contractors, and corporate engineering groups to provide reliable communications to the business

Excellent verbal and technical written communication skills
