Quality Assurance Analyst/SpecialistDepartment:PI-QA Quality AssuranceLocation:Carlsbad, NMBe part of the nation-s only repository for the disposal of nuclear waste known as Transuranic (TRU) waste.Salado Isolation Mining Contractors, managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as aQuality Assurance Analyst/Specialistto join our team located in Carlsbad, NM.The successful candidate will be required to qualify as a NQA-1 Lead Auditor and perform assessments. Will be responsible for developing checklists, assessment plans, and assessment reports based on upper tier requirements. Perform QA review of procedure and procurement documents for compliance with the applicable quality program requirements. Assist in the maintenance and development of the technical, administrative, and programmatic documents related to the implementation of a NQA-1/10CFR830 compliant program. Travel to lead and participate in assessments if needed. Write clear and organized reports and other documents that effectively communicate ideas, problems, solutions, and status of projects.Exempt Grade Level(s) (28-34)Minimum Requirements:These requirements must be met to be considered for this posting. Bachelor's degree in a science related field, or

Associate's degree with four (4) years of professional experience, or

High School Diploma or Equivalency with eight (8) years of professional experience.

Must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.Higher education attainment than listed acceptable per internal level identifiers of accompanying years of experience.Preferred Requirements:

Must have strong interface skills and be able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction.

Strong oral and written communications, audit/surveillance skills including prior NQA-1 Lead Auditor Certification or American Society for Quality Certification is desired.

Software QA experience.

Qualifications The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications: + A Bachelor\'s degree in Safety or related technical field required; extensive experience may be considered in lieu of degree. + A minimum of 5 years of safety, DOT, or operations experience is preferred. + Ability to logically review and analyze safety and training needs and take initiative to meet with management team to assist in providing training for team members. + Experience developing technical documentation and/or training materials related to Oil and Gas Trucking is preferred. + Ability to prepare presentations and communicate clearly, concisely, persuasively, and confidently with all levels within an organization. + Ability to effectively work and share information, ideas, and resources with other individuals, teams, internal customers, and stakeholders of the business. + Ability to navigate competing priorities, multi-task and change direction in a variety of workplace situations. + Ability to take charge during emergency situations to insure safe and prudent response. + Ability to utilize a variety of business/technical software tools to perform responsibilities is preferred.
