Q-20 is seeking outstanding, organized, motivated, and self-starting individuals to provide support to the rapid growing W93/Mk7 program and Models Based System Engineering (MBSE) team. Q-20, the W93/Mk7 Systems Development and Realization Group, defines, develops, and fields the warhead system for the newest Navy sub-launched ballistic missile weapon program. We support the DoD/Navy SSP and DoE/NNSA customers in defining the mission need and corresponding technical and programmatic requirements. The W93 collaborates closely with Sandia National Laboratory and Lockheed Martin Systems design agencies, developing the re-entry system, ensuring safe, secure, & reliable warhead performance and a relevant nuclear deterrent. Q-20 also incorporates the production agency teams (KCNSC, Pantex, SRS, Y-12, LANL, and SNL) tightly into the design, qualification, and realization processes.As the Lead Model Based Systems Engineer (R&D Engineer 3/4) you will play a leadership role in the development of model-based systems engineering products for the W93. As a senior member of the W93 core modeling team, you will:
Oversee the application of MBSE ontology, methodology, architecture principles
Ensure best practices to the development & maturation of systems engineering concepts & models
Generate & release deliverables as required to support customer milestones
Participate in programmatic and technical reviews, which will include briefing of upper lab management and external customers on complex and/or high visibility projects.
Mentorship of junior staff and students
