What You Will DoThe Office of General Counsel (OGC) is seeking a motivated and energetic Professional Staff Assistant, (PSA), to provide business, operational, and legal office support to OGC attorneys, paralegals and legal staff. By working independently and under the oversight of the General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel, the successful candidate's job duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

Work in a team environment that requires close cooperation,

adaptability, taking initiative in completing tasks, and willingness to provide support wherever needed.

Maintain a professional demeanor and assume responsibility for assigned tasks with minimal supervision, demonstrating accuracy and attention to detail, initiative, versatility, tact, and confidentiality in all matters.

Coordinate logistics, scheduling, announcements, travel, and administrative facilitation of legal business and operational meetings and conferences.

Compose, prepare, and edit routine and non-routine correspondence, presentations, etc.; review and prioritize incoming correspondence and make decisions regarding appropriate distribution; and use matter management and document management systems to create and maintain electronic legal files and records.

Compose a variety of specialized reports, presentations, and other documents related to Laboratory legal work.

Assist in tracking and reporting progress toward business, operational, and/or programmatic goals and objectives.

Serve as Designated Procurement Representative, Time and Effort Timekeeper Designee, and Facility Maintenance Request Representative.

What You NeedMinimum Job Requirements:

Demonstrated professional level experience and proven competence in administrative support.

Ability to interact effectively with all levels of internal and external personnel, including the ability to build effective working relationships.

Ability to organize, prioritize and follow-through to completion on multiple tasks, under strict deadlines and changing priorities. Ability to work with sensitive information.

Experience in high-level calendar management utilizing computerized calendaring software systems.

Excellent oral and written communication skills, including proficiency with editing documents with significant responsibility for content, grammar, spelling, punctuation, consistency, accuracy, and formatting.

Demonstrated computer skills and experience with the MS Office 365 Suite, i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, etc.

Ability to obtain a DOE "Q" Clearance, which normally requires U.S. Citizenship.

Desired Skills:

Demonstrated computer skills and experience with relational databases, enterprise legal management, and document management software.

Knowledge of the Laboratory's organizational structure and policies, practices, and procedures.

Knowledge of state, federal and appellate court rules, deadlines, and protocols.

Experience with electronic filing of documents with federal and state courts.

Active Q Clearance.

Education/Related Experience: Position requires a Bachelor's Degree and two (2) years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to theWork Location: The work location for this position is hybrid and is located in Los Alamos, NM. Hybrid is defined as working partially onsite/partially offsite but within 2 hours ground commute of this location. All work locations are at the discretion of management and can change at any time with appropriate notice.Position commitment : Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory.
