We are seeking a skilled surgical dental assistant to join our periodontics team. The ideal dental assistant will assist dentist in providing high-quality dental care to patients during surgeries and consultations. This role requires proficiency in x-ray procedures, aseptic techniques, and knowledge of various dental procedures. Office hours for assistants are Monday - Thursday.
Dental Assistant Responsibilities:
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations
- Assist dentist during dental surgery
- Take and develop digital x-rays
- Maintain patient records and documentation
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment
Dental Assistant Experience:
- Prior experience in a dental office preferred
- Proficiency in x-ray techniques
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques and infection control protocols
- Familiarity dental software systems
- Understanding of medical terminology, HIPAA regulations, and medical imaging
- Experience in periodontics or other specialized areas is a plus
