Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounting Assistant. This role is situated in the Real Estate and Hospitality industry in New York. Your primary function will involve managing various accounting tasks and administrative duties.Responsibilities: Reconciliation of AMEX transactions with precision and timeliness Accurate and efficient entry of invoices into the accounting system Execution of cash deposits and management of the associated records Preparation and maintenance of light journal entries Perform ad-hoc administrative duties as required Utilize QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel for various accounting functions Maintain and manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable records Conduct Bank Reconciliations as part of the regular accounting cycle Operate Accounting Software Systems to manage and organize data Ensure all accounting functions are performed in accordance with industry standards. Requirements Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems Extensive knowledge of Accounting Functions Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Familiarity with Bank Reconciliations Proficiency in QuickBooks Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion Excellent problem solving and communication skills Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred Previous experience in a similar role is highly desired.
