The Occupational Therapist is expected to create and carry out treatment plans, evaluate needs of students, screen students who may be appropriate candidates for Occupational Therapy services, make environmental modifications and work with staff to manage student needs.Requirements:Synthesizes evaluation results into a comprehensive written report which reflects strengths and barriers to student participation in the educational environment; directs program development; and guides evidence-based intervention.Evaluates the student's ability and formulates the student's profile through a variety of functional, behavioral, and standardized assessments, skilled observation, checklists, histories, and interviews.Develops and presents therapeutic activities to benefit special education students in the least restrictive environment.Implements individual and group treatment for Occupational Therapy.Consulting with school and supervisory staff on matters relating to Occupational Therapy including: instruction on therapeutic intervention; appropriate use of therapeutic equipment, methods, and instruction; and student's current level of function.Consulting with parents/guardians regarding treatment goals, specialized therapeutic equipment, and other recommendations to enhance the student's functional ability within the classroom and home setting.Qualifications:Valid State NYS Occupational Therapy license from the New York State Office of ProfessionMasters or Doctoral degree from a CAPTE-accredited programAdditional Salary Detail The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
