Description Nuvance Health has a network of convenient hospital and outpatient locations — Danbury Hospital, New Milford Hospital, Norwalk Hospital and Sharon Hospital in Connecticut, and Northern Dutchess Hospital, Putnam Hospital Center and Vassar Brothers Medical Center in New York.Purpose: This position performs patient care activities and non-professional services. These include addressing the personal, physical and emotional needs of the neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, or geriatric patient and family consistent with the philosophy, goals, policies and procedures of the Nursing Department and Medical Center administration. The position is responsible for navigating the Cerner/PACS system in order to obtain dates of service and other information with regard to imaging exams and in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support the technologist in answering the phones in the department and stocking the exam rooms. Facilitate flow of department by assisting in communication between staff and patients. Population served based on scope of services in the department.Essential Responsibilities:
Support the technical staff in obtaining, calling in and/or faxing of wet read reports.
Process, maintain and prepare patient Medical records, requests and for films and CD’s for continuing care
Responsible for scanning, merging and sharing of medical records and exams between internal computer systems.
Contributes to and actively participates in the department’s performance improvement tracking relevant patient care indicators and other indices used to audit department’s operations by making appropriate notations in the department’s logs.
Printing and providing of all consents and procedure forms for clinical staff
Verify all modalities exams QC’d and that results are in PACS.
Assist with admissions, the delivery of patient care, transfers, discharges and transport of patients. Uses two identifiers whenever taking patients to the modality and reports special care needs and patient concerns to the radiology nurse and or technologist.
Assists with the continuity of patient care through harmonious working relationships with other staff members and through appropriate interactions with patient, family and physician promoting an environment of Teamwork.
Continues professional development and remains current in all procedures and work flow for each modality.
Answers telephone and pages promptly and in a courteous manner, identifying self and department at all times.
Interacts consistently with registrars, nursing units, and clerical staff, etc., to ensure that exam requests and patient charges correlate and the order diagnosis are appropriate.
Reports and removes non-functioning equipment from circulation, tags for repair and reports to lead technician or management.
