HR/Payroll Specialist

Description Job Description:Robert Half is seeking a meticulous and experienced HR/Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, maintaining employee records, and supporting various HR functions. This role requires a strong understanding of payroll regulations, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.Key Responsibilities:

Payroll Processing:

Accurately process bi-weekly or monthly payroll for all employees.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.

Prepare and distribute paychecks or direct deposits.

Handle payroll deductions, including taxes, benefits, and garnishments.

Employee Records Management:

Maintain and update employee records in the HRIS system.

Ensure all employee information is accurate and confidential.

Assist in the onboarding process, including documentation and orientation.

Benefits Administration:

Assist employees with benefits enrollment and questions.

Coordinate with benefit providers to resolve issues.

Manage and track leave balances and usage.

Compliance and Reporting:

Prepare and submit payroll tax filings and reports.

Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations.

Generate and analyze payroll reports for management.

HR Support:

Assist with recruitment processes, including job postings and candidate screening.

Support employee relations initiatives and address HR inquiries.

Participate in HR projects and initiatives as needed.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

3+ years of experience in payroll processing and HR functions.

Experience with prevailing wages and job costing.

Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex) and HRIS systems.

Strong knowledge of payroll regulations and tax laws.

Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Preferred Skills:

Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or similar certification.

Experience with multi-state payroll processing.

Knowledge of benefits administration and labor law compliance.
