Receives data from Epic, organizes the information into a useable format in the Language Department Scheduling and Management Tool and assigns the interpreter-patient daily work schedule. This includes assigning to a variety of modalities, including phone, video and in-person appointments. Provides direction to the interpreters by triaging and downloading add-on patient appointments and/or reassigning appointments, entering the information on the interpreters' PDAs. Performs daily resource management activities including forecasting needs, working with Supplemental and vendors to ensure proper coverage. Position is able to manage multiple schedules across all language groups. Incumbents work as office colleagues with individuals from diverse cultures while interacting with international and local non-English speaking individuals over the phone. The position requires time management skills, multi-tasking, and flexibility while maintaining accuracy. The Interpreter Services Coordinator is a unique position in which empathetic communication with interpreters and teams and getting the most out of our internal resources is paramount to success. Anticipates and plans for constant disruptions and high stress situations. Makes appropriate independent decisions that require assessment, reasoning, and resolution; confers with the supervisory staff to resolve the more complex situations. Demonstrates strong communication skills and provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers; maintaining good relationships with the various Mayo departments and staff.QualificationsHighschool diploma and 5 years relevant experience demonstrating customer service skills is required. Computer proficiency required, including knowledge of web-based applications. Knowledge of Epic Cadence, Microsoft Office Excel, Lawson, and the Mayo Clinic desk system is preferred.
