Description SUMMARY As a Recreation Therapist, your compassion and creativity assist in keeping our community physically and mentally healthy.STATUS: Full Time LOCATION: ElderONE-Hudson PACE center SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday, Days ATTRIBUTESPrevious Recreational experience with the Aging populationStrong oral communication skills with a focus on exceptional customer serviceBachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy, Music or Art Therapy, Human Services, Gerontology or related fields preferredPrevious experience planning, organizing, and implementing a quality activity program in a long term care setting preferred.FOR ElderONE EMPLOYMENT: 1 year experience with frail elderly population preferredCPR certification preferredCurrent certification or eligibility through NCTRC or accrediting body preferredIf travel is required, NYS Driver's License RequiredRESPONSIBILITIES Assessments. Completes a comprehensive assessment of client's needs, restrictions, limitations, and preferencesTherapy. Develops and implements individual treatment programs and group Therapeutic Recreation programsDocumentation. Documents evaluation results, individualized treatment plans, progress reports, and other reports as required by the profession and the departmentEDUCATION: BS (Required)PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA)PAY RANGE: $19.25 - $26.00The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants.
