Accounting Manager

We provide accounting services for mostly small advertising agencies and a smattering of other small creative shops; we are in the business of providing solid numbers in a creative atmosphere. Read: this is a dream job for those who love math, are a little obsessed with spreadsheets, and have always wanted to work with eccentric creatives. We handle all facets of accounting (receivables, payables, and financials) along with running payroll. While we are in San Francisco, everyone is remote for the forceable future, and we would be willing to work with someone who’s not in the Bay Area but willing and able to work in the pacific time zone from afar.

As the Accounting Manager, you'll be leading our financial close processes, ensuring the accurate delivery of month end reporting. You will interact and collaborate with other departments to ensure relevant financial and accounting information is captured, so people skills and collaboration are a must. Your input is both wanted and necessary as you will be an integral part of the accounting team and most often the client’s primary form of contact. You work with their teams and leaders to ensure the most accurate projections of their financial status on a monthly basis. Also, probably, you’ll have fun.

Responsibilities include:

Producing monthly financial statements sticking to tight deadlines

Pulling together payroll for clients.

Being responsible for accounts receivable management, including billing of clients expenses and tracking to budgets

Assisting with the process of maintaining budget spreadsheet

Managing part time accounting staff to ensure accurate data, support and invoicing.

Looking for ways to create efficiencies within our current systems. “Streamline” will become your new favorite word. And it’s not even that great of a word, but you get the point.

Maintaining a documented system of accounting policies and procedures

Refining systems within growing finance department
