Windermere Realty Trust (WRT) is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team. The Accounting Specialist will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and supporting overall financial stability. Responsibilities will include a variety of accounting duties including commission processing, accounts payable, accounts receivables, payroll processing, monthly financial reporting, and record input and maintenance in our accounting platform. This position will operate in a high intensity, high volume environment and should possess good organizational skills, be able to work as a team, and correspond with managers, escrow & title companies, and outside vendors.

Essential Functions

Daily Real Estate Transaction based accounting

o Record day-to-day financial transactions and ensure accuracy in the general ledger.

o Receive closing commissions, review transaction records to assure accurate processing of commission payments.

o Manage agent fee structures in our accounting platform and ensure accuracy.

o Manage agent invoicing, monitor receivables, and follow up on overdue payments.

Accounts Payable

o Process vendor invoices, verify accuracy, and ensure timely payments

o Ensure proper Vendor records and assist in 1099 generation.

o Review and process employee expense reports in accordance with company policies.

o Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

o Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

o Assist in generating 1099s.

o Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

o Other assigned duties as requested.

Working Conditions

Must be able to work full-time, primarily in office, with the opportunity to work at home one day a week understanding that team member personal relationships and building the company culture are a high priority

Must be able to occasionally work additional hours if required to meet deadlines

Qualifications:

5+ years’ experience in an accounting or related field

Certificate in an accounting related field or Real Estate related accounting experience a plus

Experience working with Microsoft Office products including Excel & Word

Experience with QuickBooks a plus, but not required

Understanding of chart of accounts, general ledger, and account reconciliation

Ability to demonstrate flexibility with changing priorities

Must be well organized, have time management skills, self-starter, and strong work ethic

Detail oriented, professional attitude, and reliable

Strong problem-solving skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, and multi-tasking skills

Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with both employees, agents and vendors in a professional manner

Ability to work independently as well as with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness

Assist with other projects as needed

Employee cost for full-time employees is approximately $198.53 per month for the base plan, taken½ out of each pay period on a pre-tax basis.
