Client Company: Real Estate Investment Firm

Are you a skilled accountant with a passion for real estate and investment analytics? Our client, a unique, private, real estate investment firm, is looking for an ambitious and driven Senior Accountant or Junior Controller to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to work directly with the company owner, manage multiple general ledgers, and play a key role in the profitability and financial strategy of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the Accounts Payable (AP) function, including scanning and coding invoices for entry into QuickBooks Online general ledgers.

Oversee Accounts Receivable (AR) functions, including invoicing and tracking reimbursable expenses from investment properties.

Record acquisitions and sales in appropriate QuickBooks Classes.

Conduct month-end closing activities.

Provide monthly and transactional reporting of profitability.

Determine and report the profitability of individual transactions throughout the year.

Develop and implement an efficient AP system to automate processes and reduce manual input.

Interact with CPA firms, escrow companies, and attorneys on annual tax strategies.

Transition towards investment analytics within six months, assuming AP responsibilities from multiple parties.

Desired Candidate Traits:

Ambitious, driven, and with a strong personality.

Industry experience in residential and commercial real estate is helpful but not required.

Ability to understand transactional issues and property management reports.

Experience in working for a mortgage brokerage is a plus.

Excellent communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Job Qualifications & Desired Skills:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or 5+ years of related experience.

Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and maintain confidentiality.

Trustworthy and ethical with strong references.

Solid working knowledge of QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office (particularly Excel).

Willingness to initially roll up sleeves and perform AP work

Critical thinking, and problem solving
