The Department of Labor & Industry is seeking an ambitious and diligent Clerical Assistant 3 to render valued office support within the Certification, Accreditation, and Licensing Division. This profession maintains detailed records and provides licensure to the public in the following program areas: Asbestos, Lead, Bedding & Upholstery, Stuffed Toys, Uniform Construction Code, and Boiler Certification. Take the next step in your career and apply with us today!DESCRIPTION OF WORKWithin this Clerical Assistant 3 role, you will review and ensure correct information and fees have been submitted for incoming applications and then process them into the bureau database. You will also be responsible for processing invoice payments by researching the bureau's database and verifying the correct accounts with the payment stubs received from Central Collections.
Strong attention to detail is vital, as you will be processing correspondence for changes to owner, responsible party, and location information, as well as equipment change requests in the system which involves detailed file research supporting these changes requested by customers and inspectors. You will initiate detailed research to respond to Right to Knows and subpoenas submitted to the bureau for the Certification, Accreditation, and Licensing (CAL) program areas from the legal department. Excellent communication skills are necessary to assist the general public, as well as inspectors, in resolving invoice problems, scheduling inspections, addressing changes and certificate requests, and other items as necessary.Interested in learning more? Full-time employment
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week, upon successful completion of the probationary period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (commonwealth title); or
One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.Other Requirements:
