Wayne County Children and Youth Services is seeking a compassionate and dependable County Social Services Aide 1 to provide assistance and education to families in all phases of life, such as parent education, nutrition, life skills, and much more. We offer comprehensive training, a great team atmosphere, and an excellent benefit package!DESCRIPTION OF WORKA County Social Services Aide 1 is an entry level position which works closely with caseworkers and other social service aides to provide in-home services to families with children in which services were deemed to be appropriate. This is an excellent opportunity to engage in one-on-one assistance and communication with families to work toward positive goals and outcomes.Duties include providing assistance in all areas of family life, including household budgeting, in-home parenting education, proper hygiene, nutrition, cooking, grocery shopping skills, and general home maintenance. This may also involve assisting with completing various forms or applications. You may be required to transport consumers to supervised visitation and necessary appointments in addition to providing childcare when necessary. You will be responsible for completing written reports of each appointment with consumers, miscellaneous clerical duties, and participating in meetings with other staff to develop treatment plans and set goals for consumers. You may be required to attend court and testify. Duties may include frequent standing, climbing steps, and walking distances as a normal part of the job. You must be able to climb flights of stairs in homes or apartment buildings where no elevators are present. We are looking for someone who is able to manage multiple tasks, meet strict deadlines, and pay close attention to details in a constantly changing work environment.Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
On-call hours when required.
Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Graduation from high school; or
Any equivalent combination of training and experience.Other Requirements:

Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Lackawanna, Monroe, Pike, Susquehanna, and Wayne counties. If no eligible candidates who live within these counties apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.

This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
