La Tela Pizzeria is an upscale casual Italian Restaurant that focuses on fresh pasta, wood fired pizza, and a select beverage program. We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef. Candidates will have an advanced comprehension of food with strong leadership and communication skills. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, organized, mature, professional and determined. A minimum of 1 year experience working in a kitchen as a Sous Chef is preferred, but ambitious individuals with strong cooking skills who are looking to take the next step in their career will be strongly considered.

We are a scratch kitchen. We use classic techniques and the highest quality ingredients available.

Responsibilities:

Manage daily kitchen operations including, but not limited to:

Ability to teach and run all stations with precision and consistency

Daily inventory and ordering

Auditing all kitchen areas and staff for compliance with health code

Assisting Chef with staff training and further education

Assisting Chef with staff scheduling

Lead by example and maintain a positive work environment

Work under the guidance of our owner, Chef, and senior leadership.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects with hands.

Must be able to work on your feet for at least 12 hours.

Fast paced movements are required to go from one part of the restaurant to another.

Must be able to move, pull, carry, or lift at least 50 pounds.

Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb as required.

Must be able to bend, stoop, lift, reach, push, twist, walk, crouch, and squat.
